Councillor Gerbasi has fought hard to improve transit services in Winnipeg and to keep fares below the rate of inflation. Councillor Gerbasi was a member of the Working Group on Public Transportation Policy. The Working Group’s final report “Direction to the Future”, was adopted by Council in 2000. (more…)

Business Improvement Zones

Councillor Gerbasi is an active board member of five Business Improvement Zones:

  • Downtown BIZ
  • Osborne Village BIZ
  • Osborne South BIZ
  • Corydon BIZ
  • West Broadway BIZ

Councillor Gerbasi has worked diligently with the five business improvement zones in the Fort Rouge
- East Fort Garry Ward to help them achieve the goals of promoting local businesses and building attractive and safe communities. She believes strongly in the business improvement zone concept because it enhances the neighbourhood for both business and residents.

Approach to Development

The Access Advisory Committee

The Access Advisory Committee (AAC) of the City of Winnipeg was developed to advise and assist in making our City more accessible to persons with disabilities. Persons with disabilities were reported as 17% of the population of Manitoba, and those numbers are anticipated to rise with our aging population. (more…)

Historical Buildings Committee

In November of 1999, Councillor Gerbasi became the first woman to be named Chair of the City of Winnipeg Historical Buildings Committee (HBC). She was first elected Chair in 2000, and continues in that role today. (more…)
