Read the full E-newsletter at this link: http://t.co/7KU3pHBSrt     Armstrong's Point Heritage Conservation District  I am excited to share that the Armstrong's Point neighbourhood is one step closer to becoming Winnipeg's first Heritage Conservation District. At Downtown, Heritage and Riverbank Committee this month, we agreed to move forward with creating the actual Heritage Conservation District Plan for Armstrong's Point aiming for completion by the end of this year!  Ideally the model that is developed here can be used as an example for other potential Heritage Districts in Winnipeg. Over the winter of 2013-2014, the City of Winnipeg embarked on a study to explore the idea of Heritage Conservation Districts in Winnipeg with the help of private landscape architecture and planning services and other community partners. Armstrong's point was chosen as the case study and local residents were invited to two workshops and an open house to participate in the study. These studies and other information about the project are available on the city web site. Thanks to the Armstrong's Point Residents Association and all who have participated so far. Please watch for notice of meetings related to the next stage of planning for this beautiful heritage neighbourhood!
  1. Winnipeg Fire Fighter Rooftop Campout
Winnipeg Fire Fighters are gearing up again for their annual campout next week.  Each year they take to the rooftop of the Osborne Village Fire Hall for 3 nights to raise funds for Muscular Dystrophy Canada.   I encourage you to stop by the fire hall to show your support for their efforts by giving a wave or making a donation.   This years campout will run from Tuesday, March 17th to Friday, March 20th.   Come out and help the Fire Fighters raise awareness about muscular dystrophy and funds to help alleviate it in Canada!
