Coldest Night of the Year Event On February 21st, 2015 I'm joining thousands of Canadians across the country in over 80 cities, walking to raise funds for Canadian charities who serve the hungry, homeless, and hurting locally.   I am pleased to be the captain of our team "City Hall Stars" which includes Councillors Cindy Gilroy and Shawn Dobson and other great folks. For more information on the event, my team, or to sponsor our effort, please visit our team page. Winnipeg's Coldest Night of the Year event is being hosted by Resource Assistance for Youth (RAY) a non-profit agency based in West Broadway working with street-entrenched and homeless youth in our city. 2. Public Meetings on Active Transportation Do you live in Wildwood, Point Road, or Crescent Park communities? The City of Winnipeg has initiated a neighbourhood-based engagement project on Active Transportation in Fort Garry, and has contracted the Green Action Centre (GAC) to gather your input regarding the conditions for walking, cycling, and other active modes of transportation in your area. We are in the early stages of this project and are looking to identify local stakeholders, as well as key issues and opportunities for active transportation. We encourage you to contribute and have your say! Please consider attending one or both upcoming Public Meetings on the matter. Here are the details: Tuesday, February 24th, 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm at Wildwood Community Club (271 North Drive) and/or Thursday, February 26th, 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm at Fort Garry Community Club (880 Oakenwald Ave, Hobson location) Refreshments provided. Children are welcome, although no formal childcare provided. Please RSVP to Shoni Madden at Shoni@greenactioncentre.ca or (204) 925-3773. GAC also invites you to contact Shoni if you are not able or available to attend the Public Meeting but would still like to provide your input.
