MOTHERS DAY FEATURE
MOM'S the word
Politicians remember favourite special days
IT'S the thought that counts -- especially when you're juggling raising three kids and running a city. Longtime Fort Rouge Coun. Gerbasi was tickled pink, when about a decade ago, her three kids offered their elbow grease as a special Mother's Day gift. It didn't quite turn out that way. "They made me a card with a 'kitchen cleaning tableau' with numbers to mark off each time they cleaned up," she says. "To this day, it sits on my bulletin board, with four of 10 coupons signed off and six more promises of cleaning remaining. (But) it does say 'We Love You Mommy,' which helps me accept the situation!"
