POLITICAL PLAYERS REFLECT ON 2010 AND THE WINDING ROAD AHEAD

Another year over. The unknown is peeking around the corner. Sou’wester reporter Simon Fuller caught up with four local political figures. Here are jenny’s responses: A hope or ambition for 2011: Jenny Gerbasi: I hope to see a city budget that invests adequately in our older neighbourhoods and moves us forward in dealing with prevention of crime, the affordable housing crisis and fixing existing infrastructure. A key achievement in 2010: Gerbasi: Being re-elected with close to 65% of the vote, while it was gratifying to see construction begin for phase one of the Southwest Rapid Transit corridor. A challenge you faced: Gerbasi: The large and extensive construction projects in Fort Rouge from active transportation, to the rapid transit corridor, to the Jubilee underpass, caused a lot of frustrations for area residents. Any resolutions? Gerbasi: To live more in the present moment. The Sou-Wester, Jan 5th, 2011
